CARE AND EDUCATION INTERVENTIONS

Dear Early Career Scholars,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a Poster Interactive Session as part of the workshop on “Child Well-being in Formal and Informal Care and Education Contexts: New Perspectives on Intervention.” This session aims to provide a platform for early career scholars to present their research on care and education interventions.

Theme and Scope:

We welcome contributions that explore innovative approaches, strategies, and practices that promote child well-being in various formal and informal care and education contexts. Submissions may focus on, but are not limited to, the following areas:

1. Effective practices in early childhood education
2. Inclusive education and support for children with diverse needs
3. Promoting mental health and well-being in educational settings
4. Parental involvement and engagement in children’s education
5. Quality assurance and evaluation of care and education interventions 6. Cross-cultural perspectives on care and education practices

Submission Guidelines:

To be considered for the Poster Interactive Session, please submit an abstract of your work in English, limited to 300 words. The abstract should clearly state the aims, methods, findings, and implications of your research. Additionally, please provide your affiliation and a brief biography (100 words) outlining your academic background and research interests.

Submission Process:

Please email your abstract and biography as a Word document to inpa.issbd.aip@unicatt.it by September 4, 2023 (new deadline). Include “Poster Interactive Session Submission” in the subject line of your email. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on September 12, 2023 (new deadline).

Poster Presentation Format:

During the Poster Interactive Session, accepted participants will have the opportunity to showcase their research through visually appealing posters. The posters should effectively communicate key aspects of the research, including objectives, methodologies, findings, and implications. We encourage participants to utilize creative and engaging visuals, such as graphs, charts, images, and concise text, to captivate the audience’s attention and facilitate understanding. The poster dimensions will be 70(W)x100(H) cm.

Presenters are expected to be available at their posters during designated poster sessions to engage in discussions with workshop attendees, answer questions, and elaborate on their research findings. This interactive format offers a unique chance to receive feedback, exchange ideas, and build connections with fellow scholars, practitioners, and experts in the field.

Please note that participants are responsible for printing and bringing their posters to the workshop venue. Mounting materials will be provided.

  • An opportunity to publish in the Erikson journal “Neuropsychology, Psychotherapy, and Rehabilitation”: three meritorious poster presentations will be selected after reviewing all submissions. The authors of the selected contributions will have the opportunity to publish an article in the journal ‘Neuropsychology, Psychotherapy, and Rehabilitation’ (subject to approval according to a double-blind peer review procedure). Authors must submit their articles in English to the journal secretariat by 30 November 2023. The three articles will be published in the March 2024 issue of the journal.

It is worth noting that attendance at the Workshop is completely free of charge.

Early Career Scholars:

Early career scholars are invited to apply for one of the ten €600 grants offered by ISSBD by September 4, 2023.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Quality of the abstract: This criterion assesses the overall quality, clarity, and significance of the research project proposed by the applicant. A well-written and compelling abstract is crucial to demonstrate the potential impact of the research.
  • Quality of Curriculum Vitae: The applicant’s curriculum vitae reflects their academic achievements, research experience, publications, and relevant skills.
  • Reference letters from professors or academic mentors play a crucial role in evaluating grant applications.
  • ISSBD membership: Being a current member of ISSBD is mandatory to apply for grants.

Following the evaluation of the applications, the candidates with the highest scores are selected to receive the grants. It should be noted that different criteria are established specifically for ECS from income level countries, ensuring a fair and inclusive selection process.

Venue Details:

The workshop on “Child Well-being in Formal and Informal Care and Education Contexts: New Perspectives on Intervention” will take place at the esteemed Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano, located at Largo A. Gemelli 1, 20123, Milan Italy. The specific room for the workshop will be communicated to all participants closer to the event date.

The university is conveniently situated in the heart of Milan, making it easily accessible by various modes of transportation. Here are some options to reach the venue:

  1. Public Transportation: The university is well-connected by public transport networks. The closest subway station to the venue is S. Ambrogio, which is served by the green line. From the S. Ambrogio station, the university campus is within walking distance, allowing for a convenient commute.
  2. Airport: If you are arriving by air, the closest airport to the venue is Milano Linate Airport (LIN). You can take a taxi, private shuttle service, or public transportation to the University campus from the airport.
  3. Train: Milano Centrale, the main railway station in Milan, is easily accessible from various national and international destinations. From Milano Centrale, you can take a taxi or use the metro to reach the university.

We recommend participants plan their travel arrangements in advance and consider the most suitable mode of transportation based on their location and preferences.

Accommodations:

Double rooms for single use have been reserved at the Palazzo delle Stelline Hotel and at B&B Sant’Ambrogio. Breakfast is included in the reservation.

To avail yourself of this accommodation at one of the hotels, you must complete the pre-registration form by July 25th. If you fail to complete the form by the specified deadline, we cannot guarantee the availability of the reserved rooms.

For Early Career Scholars who have been selected for the grants offered by ISSBD, rooms have been reserved at the Foresteria Necchi.
